The Centre for Food Safety has urged the public not to consume a type of prepacked candied winter melon which contains the preservative sulphur dioxide.
The product is sold by Vanguard with an expiry date of July 20, 2014.
The centre said normal consumption of the product is unlikely to pose adverse health effects, but said it may cause people who are allergic to sulphur dioxide to have breathing difficulty, headaches and nausea.
