The Department of Health has instructed the Land Pharmaceutical Company to recall a batch of proprietary Chinese medicine [Xing He Tang] Extra Good Zhenlong Wan as it has been found to contain excessive mercury.
The department found a sample of the product contained mercury at a level 1.3 times the permitted limit.
The company imported the batch of medicine from the Mainland.
The ingredients do not include any Chinese herbal medicine that is known to be rich in mercury.
The product's registration number is HKP-06151, and the batch number is KCJ001.
