Mainland authorities today notified the Centre for Health Protection of a case of avian influenza A (H9N2), affecting a seven-year-old boy in Hunan.
He fell ill on November 19 and has recovered after receiving treatment at a local hospital.
He had been in contact with poultry.
The Centre for Health Protection will liaise with Mainland health authorities on the case.
