The Centre for Health Protection is investigating a case of Legionnaires' disease affecting a 65-year-old man.
He fell in on August 3 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital two days later. He had no recent travel history.
The clinical diagnosis was pneumonia, and he tested positive for Legionella bacteria. He was discharged on August 15 and is in stable condition.
This is the 12th case reported to the centre this year. There were 28 cases in 2012, and 17 in 2011.
