Mid-year population at 7.184m

Hong Kong’s population stood at 7,184,000 in mid-2013, up 0.4% from mid-2012, the Census & Statistics Department says.
 
There were 41,000 deaths and 74,400 births, resulting in a natural increase of 33,400.
 
There was also an inflow of 47,900 one-way permit holders and a net outflow of 4,000.
 
In mid-2013, the number of usual residents was 6,972,700 and the number of mobile residents was 211,300.
