The Department of Health today advised consumers not to use CO Feng Shi Gu Tong Ning Jiao Nang, as it may contain multiple undeclared Western drugs that are dangerous to health.
 
It issued the appeal after an 83-year-old woman was sent to North District Hospital on March 9 with adrenal insufficiency after consuming the product. She was discharged from hospital after treatment.
 
Tests found the product contained prednisone, diclofenac, ibuprofen, hydrochlorothiazide, metoclopramide and trimethoprim.
 
The product is not a registered proprietary Chinese medicine, and was purchased on the Mainland.
