Problematic meal:  The Centre for Food Safety urges the public not to eat a beef lasagna that may be adulterated with horse meat.

Alert issued on horsemeat lasagne

The Centre for Food Safety today urged the public not to eat a brand of lasagne which may contain horse meat , and would not have undergone tests for veterinary drugs.
 
The centre received notification from the European Commission today that a British company detected horse DNA in its own brand of beef lasagne which was produced in Luxembourg.
 
The product is Findus Beef Lasagne, the place of origin is Britain, its manufacturer is Comigel (Luxembourg) and the packing size is 360 grams.
 
The importer, PARKnSHOP, has initiated a recall and a hotline has been set up at 2606 8658.
 
The centre will continue to monitor the situation.
