Legionella bacteria found in building
January 08, 2013
The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department found Legionella bacteria in a cooling tower of one building in December.
The water sample was taken from Tai Fu Building on Tai Tsun Street, Tai Kok Tsui.
The bacterial count in the sample breached the upper threshold of 1,000 colony-forming units per millilitre.
The department issued a disinfection order, and the tower has since been cleaned.
