36 treated for hand, foot, mouth disease

The Centre for Health Protection today reported two outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease affecting 36 pupils from two nursery schools in Sha Tin and Yau Tsim Mong District.
 
The centre advised the TWGHs Lions Club South Kln Nursery School in Sha Tin to suspend classes until June 18, as 16 pupils have hand, foot and mouth disease. Fourteen boys and two girls, aged two to seven, have fallen ill since April 22. Three required hospitalisation. All are stable.
 
Twenty students, aged two to five, at a nursery school in Yau Tsim Mong District were also affected by the disease. The 11 boys and nine girls have fallen ill since May 18. One student required hospitalisation, and all are stable.
