2 more contract eye infection

May 24, 2012
Two more rugby players who took part in a tournament in Singapore last month, have come down with kerato-conjunctivitis, the Centre for Health Protection said today.

The boys, aged nine and 15, came down with itchy, painful and red eyes with discharge on May 21 and 22. One required hospitalisation. All are stable.

The patients are from the Discovery Bay Pirates team. This has brought the total number of affected boys to 33.

The centre has set up a hotline, 2125 2363, and calls on rugby players who participated in the Singaporean tournament to contact its staff on the number.
