Woman arrested for slimming drugs

A 22-year-old woman has been arrested in Yau Ma Tei for the illegal sale and possession of unlabelled slimming products.
 
The Department of Health said today they are unregistered pharmaceutical products containing banned drug ingredients and Western medicines.
 
The operation followed laboratory test findings today revealing three unlabelled slimming products, which had been obtained earlier from an Internet auction website, were found to contain Western medicines, including fluoxetine, bisacodyl and the banned drug ingredient sibutramine.
 
The slimming products were allegedly obtained from a hospital in Thailand.
