5 ill after eating fish

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating the ciguatoxin poisoning of five people who ate coral reef fish.
 
Three women and a man, aged 20 to 56, fell ill after eating a fish on March 23 and 24. The fish was bought from an Ap Lei Chau market.
 
One of them sought medical treatment at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. All are stable.
 
A second case involved a woman aged 48, who fell ill after eating a fish at home on March 26, purchased from a Tai Po market.
 
She sought medical consultation at United Christian Hospital but did not require hospitalisation. She is stable.
