$2 transport for the elderly broached
October 12, 2011
Chief Executive Donald Tsang has announced transport concessions for the elderly and the disabled.
In his 2011-12 Policy Address today, Mr Tsang proposed allowing people aged 65 or above, and the disabled, to travel on the general MTR lines, and franchised bus and ferry routes for $2 a trip anytime.
He said the Government will reimburse the transport operators on an accountable basis.
He also suggested the Public Swimming Pool Monthly Ticket Scheme, to help elderly swimmers.
