Of the 14,000 food samples tested by the Centre for Food Safety in May, 12 were found to be unsatisfactory, seeing an overall pass rate of 99.9%.
The unsatisfactory items were a sample of frozen suckling pig which was found to contain excessive residues of a veterinary drug, a dried fish sample with a banned veterinary drug, vanilla and a green tea ice cream samples taken from the same retail outlet which had excessive coliform organisms, two peanut samples containing excessive aflatoxin, and six sports drinks which contained a plasticiser.
