Voluntary recall:  Mannings Folic Acid 5mg and Mannings Sore Throat Lozenges 0.25mg were found to contain plasticisers.

Mannings products recalled

The Department of Health today endorsed Mannings' voluntary recall of two registered pharmaceutical products as it found plasticisers in them during an in-house chemical analysis.
 
The department received notification from Mannings' parent company, The Dairy Farm, that Mannings Sore Throat Lozenges 0.25mg (Registration No.: HK-60010) and Mannings Folic Acid 5mg (Registration No.: HK-59704) were found to contain Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate and Diisononyl phthalate.
 
Mannings Sore Throat Lozenges 0.25mg was found to contain Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate at a level of 1.4ppm and Diisononyl phthalate at a level of 3.8ppm while Mannings Folic Acid 5mg was found to carry Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate at a level of 1.3ppm and Diisononyl phthalate at 1.6ppm.
 
Both products are manufactured in Singapore and imported by Dairy Farm for local sale in Mannings’ shops.
 
The department has informed Singapore's regulatory authority about the recall exercise. Mannings has set up a hotline, 2299 3381.
