The Centre for Health Protection is investigating the food poisoning of two men believed to have eaten vegetables tainted with chemicals.
A 59-year-old man suffered numbness, a hot sensation and swelling over his tongue, gums and lips after eating in a Mong Kok restaurant on February 17. He visited the accident and emergency department of a hospital and did not require admission.
A 36-year-old man suffered numbness, a burning sensation and pain in the mouth and throat after eating in a Hung Hom restaurant on the same day. He also visited the accident and emergency department of a hospital and did not require admission.
The two men are stable. The centre's investigation is on-going.
