Foreign currency reserves up

Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets increased by US$400 million to US$413.7 billion in August, the Monetary Authority said today.

 

Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, foreign currency reserve assets at the end of August stood at US$405.5 billion.

 

The reserve assets represent more than seven times the currency in circulation or 46% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
