Diversity is important within the current-term Government as it will help bureaus be more in tune with different sectors.
Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Edward Yau made the comment today while responding to media questions about the upcoming appointment of his undersecretary.
"We are forming our team. We hope to find the best candidate for the job. It is important for the new team to have people from all walks of life and from different professions.
"Take my bureau as an example. I would like to have people coming from different backgrounds, so we can have a better feel on various sectors.
"I am looking forward to the announcement to be made by the Chief Executive, and I look forward to bringing my team to see people from different trades and prepare ourselves for the next legislative session."
