Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So attended the 28th Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation Ministerial Meeting in Lima, Peru, yesterday.
He attended the opening session in the morning before joining a plenary session titled Advancing Regional Economic Integration & Quality Growth.
He said Hong Kong looks forward to discussions on the initiatives to achieve free and open trade and investment, particularly the one on realising the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area.
Mr So shared Hong Kong’s experience in another session on promoting the modernisation of micro, small and medium enterprises in the region.
He noted government and public organisations’ measures to nurture these enterprises, such as infrastructure and funding schemes.
Mr So also held bilateral meetings with the trade ministers of APEC member economies.
