Funding support for research and development projects under the 2017 Guangdong-Hong Kong Technology Co-operation Funding Scheme opened for application today until December 9.
The Innovation & Technology Commission said the technology areas supported under the scheme will enhance economic development in the Greater Pearl River Delta region.
The scheme has three categories. The first covers projects to be funded by the Innovation & Technology Fund.
The second covers projects to be funded by the Mainland authorities while the third covers projects to be funded jointly by Guangdong and Hong Kong, or Shenzhen and Hong Kong, authorities.
There are 27 technology areas under the first category, for which Hong Kong institutions can submit funding applications.
The governments of the two sides will also jointly provide funding support for projects in 20 technology areas under the third category.
