Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So will attend ASEAN meetings and a forum in Laos on August 6 and 7.
He will attend the 1st ASEAN Economic Ministers - Hong Kong, China Consultations to discuss Hong Kong's progress.
He will also discuss the Hong Kong China - ASEAN Free Trade Agreement negotiations, host a dinner to open the 13th ASEAN Leadership Forum and speak at the forum.
He will have bilateral meetings with the economic ministers of various ASEAN member states.
Mr So will also attend the gala dinner of the 48th ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meeting.
He will call on Chinese Ambassador Guan Huabing, representatives of the National Chamber of Commerce and the Laos Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and Hong Kong people living in the country.
Under Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Godfrey Leung will be Acting Secretary during Mr So's absence.
