The Mega Events Fund Assessment Committee has earmarked up to $15 million for this year's Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival and Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open.
The carnival will be held in Victoria Harbour along the Central Harbourfront from June 10 to 12. It includes the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races, a BeerFest, a Family Zone and the Hong Kong Trophy.
It is expected to attract 165,000 participants, including 41,000 visitors. A maximum of $6 million has been earmarked for the event.
The tennis tournament will be held in Victoria Park from October 8 to 16.
World-class professional tennis players will compete in the event which will be broadcast globally.
It is expected to draw 36,000 participants, including 1,600 visitors.
Maximum funding for the event is $9 million.
