FS opens innovation carnival

Financial Secretary John Tsang opened the InnoCarnival at Hong Kong Science Park in Sha Tin today.

 

He said the Government has been striving to foster a conducive environment for research and development, and to promote innovation and technology for building a knowledge-based economy with diversified industries.

 

He noted the InnoCarnival adopts a lively approach to promote technology in the community, and to boost young people’s interest in technology.

 

He encouraged youngsters to learn the latest technologies and launch a career in research and development work, and seek to contribute to society through innovation.

 

The nine-day carnival features a series of activities to promote a culture of innovation and technology in the community. Admission is free.

 

More than 70 organisations including universities, research and development centres, professional bodies, government departments, technology enterprises and youth organisations are participating in the carnival to showcase their innovations and research achievements.

 

Visitors can participate in 30 talks and seminars, more than 300 workshops, and over 300 guided tours.
