Cartoon culture:  Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So (standing) meets local up-and-coming comic artists.

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So today met local up-and-coming comic artists who have been selected to be featured in the second phase of the Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars in Kowloon Park.

The six comic artists’ original comic characters will be presented in painted sculptures on the avenue.

The characters are Kong Kee's Ding Ding Penguin, Bigsoil's Polar Bear & the Boy, Cuson Lo's Cuson, Felix Ip's Jing Lie, Szeto Kim-kiu's Lok and Keung Chi-kit's Samba.

Mr So hopes that the new addition of comic characters would bring more colour and vibrancy to the avenue and showcase the endless creativity of local animation and comic talents.

The avenue is run by Hong Kong Comic & Animation Federation and its second phase will be opened by early 2016.
