Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So today met with Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild President Andrew Lau and the guild's executive committee to exchange views on the long-term development of the film industry.
Mr So said the Government is a staunch supporter of the local film industry and will encourage more movie productions and nurture talent through the Film Development Fund.
It will introduce a new Film Production Grant Scheme and enhance the Film Production Financing Scheme. The First Feature Film Initiative will be launched again this year.
Mr So took suggestions on how the Government can help drive the development of film industry and expand its audience.
