I&T advisory committee appointed

April 01, 2015

The Government announced the establishment of the Advisory Committee on Innovation & Technology today.

The committee will advise the Government on innovation and technology enhancements in Hong Kong, with a focus on making the best use of the advantages of "One Country" and "Two Systems".

It will also study how to further strengthen co-ordination between the Government, industry, and the academia and research sectors.

The Government will change the Steering Committee on Innovation & Technology to the advisory committee, and has appointed Advisor to the Chief Executive on Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang as its chairman.

Committee members are drawn from academia, industry and I&T-related organisations. Their appointment is effective with immediate effect for two years.

The committee will hold its first meeting on April 15.
