Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So visited the Mad World film set today to learn about how the movie has benefited from Create Hong Kong's First Feature Film Initiative.

During the visit, Mr So met with the film's director Wong Chun and its lead actors to hear about the challenges they encountered during the planning and shooting process.

Mad World is one of the films supported by Create Hong Kong's First Feature Film Initiative in the higher education institutions section. It tells the story of a father and son facing their past while burdened with an enormous sense of guilt.

Mr So said Create Hong Kong will continue to take the initiative forward this year, adding that the Film Development Fund will introduce a new subsidy scheme for small-budget films, providing financial support to commercial films with a maximum production cost of $10 million.

He also hopes the enhanced measures will give talented young people a chance to show their flair, and inject new blood into the film industry.
