Acting Financial Secretary Prof KC Chan has welcomed the announcement of tax arrangements for Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor scheme and the Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor scheme.
The Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation and the China Securities Regulatory Commission made the announcement today
Prof Chan said the arrangements will provide clarity to the market and investors.
They are also conducive to the smooth implementation of the Stock Connect, further confirming Hong Kong's edge as an offshore renminbi hub, he added.
