Financial Secretary John Tsang will leave for Australia on Thursday to attend the Group of Twenty Leaders' Summit to be held this weekend.
Mr Tsang will join the summit as part of the People's Republic of China’s delegation.
Global leaders will discuss global economic issues and use their collective power to improve people's lives during the summit.
Mr Tsang will also meet his counterparts on the margins of the summit.
He will then visit Sydney from November 17 to 19 to meet Australian officials, boosting economic and financial ties between the two places. He will also deliver a keynote address at a business forum.
Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on November 19. Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan will be the Acting Secretary while Mr Tsang is away.
