Financial Secretary John Tsang spoke at the School of International & Public Affairs at Columbia University and met with Hong Kong students and young professionals in New York before concluding his United States visit on October 11.
Mr Tsang's morning stop was at Hong Kong artist Chloe Ho's exhibition Under the Surface at the Forbes Galleries.
He then gave a speech at Columbia University and said that Hong Kong offered abundant career opportunities for ambitious young people.
In the afternoon, Mr Tsang attended a reception hosted by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in New York to meet with Hong Kong people living there to better understand their situation.
Mr Tsang will arrive in Hong Kong on the morning of October 13.
