The volume of Hong Kong’s total goods exports dropped 2.2% year-on-year in February, while that of goods imports increased 5.3%, the Census & Statistics Department announced today.
The volume of goods re-exports decreased 2.3%, and that of domestic exports dropped 5.8%.
Comparing the three-month period ending February with the preceding three months on a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of total goods exports dropped 2.5%. Within this total, the volume of re-exports dropped 2.7%, while that of domestic exports rose 9.2%. Concurrently, the volume of goods imports decreased 1.1%.
The prices of goods re-exports rose 2.5% year-on-year, while those of domestic exports decreased 0.6%. Taken together, the prices of total goods exports increased 2.4%. Concurrently, the prices of goods imports rose 2.7%.
