Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So has urged lawmakers to support the plan to set up the new Innovation & Technology Bureau.
Speaking to the media today, Mr So said the technology sector has asked for the proposed bureau, and the Government wants to form it as soon as possible.
On legislator Leung Kwok-hung’s filibuster attempt to ask the Government to explain the free television licensing issue, Mr So said the issue is unrelated the new bureau’s establishment.
He said he will communicate with Mr Leung on the matter.
