Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So began his two-day visit to Zurich yesterday, meeting officials, entrepreneurs and academics to foster closer relations with the city.
Mr So met Zurich Mayor Corine Mauch and other officials to discuss urban development and economic co-operation.
He then visited Chinese Consul-General Liang Jianquan, and briefed him on Hong Kong's latest developments.
Mr So later visited a manufacturing company that produces bags and accessories made with used materials, an elevator manufacturer, and a start-up project's incubator, and invited the entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities in Hong Kong.
He also met Zurich University of the Arts President Prof Thomas Meier, and discussed opportunities for closer co-operation between Hong Kong and Zurich in art and design education.
Mr So will visit the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology today, and speak at a business luncheon.
