Foreign currency reserves rise

Hong Kong's official foreign currency reserve assets amounted to US$292.8b at the end of January, up US$7.4b on December.
 
The Monetary Authority announced today Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets, including unsettled forward contracts, stood at US$293.2b, up US$7.8b.
 
The total foreign currency reserve assets represent about eight times the currency in circulation or 56% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
