Renminbi bonds issuance welcomed

The Monetary Authority welcomes China Development Bank's announcement of its issuance of renminbi bonds in Hong Kong through the authority’s Central Moneymarkets Unit bond-tendering platform.
 
The bank will be the first Mainland financial institution to make use of the platform to issue renminbi bonds following the Ministry of Finance's inaugural issuances through the platform last December and August this year.
 
The Monetary Authority said today the announcement signifies a continual deepening of financial co-operation between the Mainland and Hong Kong.
