The Land Registry received 5,675 sale and purchase agreements for registration in October, down 13.7% on September and a fall of 53.3% year on year.
 
The 12-month moving average for October was 10,416, which was 4.9% below that for September and 20.5% below that for October 2010.
 
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in October was $27.6 billion, down 11.7% on September and a fall of 51.5% year on year.
 
There were 4,643 agreements for residential units, down 3.7% compared with September, and a fall of 51.4% year on year.
 
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements for residential units was $22.5 billion, down 2.2% on September and 50% year on year.
 
The public made 353,612 land register searches in October, down 3.6% on September and 31.7% year on year.
