KS Wong visits Wong Tai Sin

Environmental awareness:  Secretary for the Environment KS Wong visits the Salvation Army Chuk Yuen Integrated Service Centre.

Secretary for the Environment KS Wong visited Wong Tai Sin today to meet District Councillors, young people and the elderly.

 

He listened to the Wong Tai Sin District Council's views on the Government's environmental protection work.

 

He said publicity and public education are of paramount importance for the effective promotion of environmental protection.

 

Mr Wong thanked the council for its promotion of waste reduction and clean recycling.

 

He said the Environment Bureau plans to implement municipal solid waste charging and the public should be prepared for it.

 

Mr Wong then visited the Wong Tai Sin Community Recycling Centre which is operated by a non-profit-making organisation and funded by the Environment & Conservation Fund.

 

He then went to the Salvation Army Chuk Yuen Integrated Service Centre to meet young people and the elderly to learn more about their daily lives and their views on environmental protection.
