Secretary for the Environment KS Wong delivered a keynote speech on energy saving at a session of the C40 Mayors Summit in Mexico City yesterday.

He highlighted Hong Kong's efforts in promoting energy saving and decarbonisation, and in meeting the target of reducing its energy intensity by 40% by 2025.

He then attended the summit's main session and a session on sustainable waste management before attending the C40 Cities Award Ceremony which recognises cities which play a leading role in climate action.

He later attended the dinner for the C40 Mayors hosted by the President of the Board of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group and the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Cities & Climate Change Michael Bloomberg.
