The Hong Kong-Macao Environmental Protection Co-operation Agreement was signed today.
Permanent Secretary for the Environment and Director of Environmental Protection Donald Tong signed the agreement with Director of the Macau Environmental Protection Bureau Raymond Tam.
The signing was witnessed by Secretary for the Environment KS Wong.
It covers co-operation on air pollution control, environmental impact assessment, waste and sewage management, environmental monitoring and research, as well as notification on major cross-boundary environmental incidents.
Mr Tam was leading a Macau delegation to the 11th Eco Expo Asia in Hong Kong.
