The Environmental Protection Department recorded 81 convictions for pollution offences in May.
Four were for air pollution, three for noise, 71 for waste disposal and three for water pollution.
The heaviest fine handed down in the month was $80,000, penalising a company that used powered mechanical equipment that did not adhere to permit conditions.
