The Environmental Protection Department recorded 63 convictions for pollution offences in March.

Eight were for air pollution, six for noise, two for water pollution and 46 for waste disposal. One offence was under the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance.

The heaviest fine handed down in the month was $30,000, assessed against a person who imported controlled waste without a permit.
