A new funding scheme to help eligible organisations carry out community involvement projects to prepare for the introduction of a waste charge is accepting applications until November 16.
The Environment & Conservation Fund Committee has earmarked $50 million for the projects.
Non-profit organisations can apply to fund building projects that would allow people to rehearse the charging process and reflect its impact on waste reduction, so that the necessary preparatory work for the charge's full implementation can be carried out as soon as practicable.
A briefing session will be held at 2.30pm on October 15 at the Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong in Wan Chai.
