Talks planned to boost energy efficiency

May 16, 2015

Secretary for the Environment KS Wong says his bureau will work with key stakeholders in the building management industry to discuss how to boost existing commercial buildings’ energy efficiency.

Speaking to reporters today, Mr Wong said existing buildings' designs do not meet modern energy saving standards, and require retrofitting and retro-commissioning to boost their energy performance.

The Environment Bureau will have talks with developers, property managers, utilities companies, and professionals to map out ways to accelerate market transformation in this regard, he added.
