Climatic study:  KS Wong (right) was briefed on the operation of the Taipa Grande monitoring station at the Macau Meteorological & Geophysical Bureau.

Secretary for the Environment KS Wong has led a Government delegation to attend the 2015 Macau International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition today, to explore opportunities for environmental collaboration in the region.

 

He has shared views with government authorities, professionals and academics, and representatives from green sectors, on the policies, latest technologies and experiences on the prevention of air pollution and mitigation of climate change.

 

Mr Wong officiated at the opening ceremony of the forum, themed "Green Economy, Solutions for Clean Air", with other guests in the morning and toured the exhibition booths.

 

He met with Macau’s Secretary for Transport & Public Works Raimundo Arrais do Rosário to discuss the challenges on different environmental fronts, including air pollution control and improvement measures of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, and waste management.

 

He attended a networking luncheon hosted by the Macau Trade & Investment Promotion Institute.

 

In the afternoon, Mr Wong visited the Macau Meteorological & Geophysical Bureau to understand more about the operation of the Taipa Grande monitoring station, and the green campus and facilities at the University of Macau’s Hengqin campus.

 

Mr Wong concluded the visit by joining a dinner hosted by the Macau Government.
