Secretary for the Environment KS Wong opened the Food Wise Hong Kong Campaign roving exhibition today.
Officiating at the launch ceremony, he called on all sectors in Hong Kong to collaborate in food waste reduction.
He said the campaign aims at reducing food waste by up to 10% by 2017-18, and he hopes it can bring a "food wise" culture to the community, adding a Food Wise Facebook page will be launched.
The campaign comprises 10 roving exhibitions in various districts starting this month.
The first exhibition is being held at Telford Plaza from today until September 22, featuring food waste reduction tips and highlighting various sectors’ efforts and achievements in reducing waste.
Mr Wong also presented appreciation certificates to those reducing waste.
