Hong Kong's 41 gazetted beaches maintained full compliance with the water quality objectives for bathing last year, for the fourth consecutive year.
Upon the release of its 2013 report on beach water quality today, the Environmental Protection Department said 24 beaches were ranked 'good' while the remaining 17 were 'fair', which complied with the objectives.
The rate of compliance grew from 63% in 1997 to 100% in 2010, and has been maintained at the highest level since.
