Action taken on idling engines
May 23, 2012
Environmental protection inspectors and traffic wardens have conducted 166 publicity and joint enforcement actions on idling engines since the implementation of the Motor Vehicle Idling Ordinance in December.
The Environmental Protection Department said today the actions cover multiple idling engine blackspots on Hong Kong Island, and in Kowloon and the New Territories.
Meanwhile, the department will hold a series of roving exhibitions on the idling engine prohibition.
The first will be held at Tai Po Market MTR Station for four days from tomorrow.
The second will be held at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza from May 31 to June 3.
