April warmer, wetter

April was warmer than usual with the Hong Kong Observatory recording a mean temperature of 23.9 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees above normal.
With frequent passages of troughs of low pressure across the South China coast, there were several heavy rain episodes in the month. Total rainfall for the month was 294.9mm, about 69% above normal.
