Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Patrick Nip visited Tsuen Wan today to meet with community leaders and young people.
Mr Nip first met District Councillors to discuss the district’s latest developments and issues of concern.
He then visited the Yan Chai Hospital Yuen Yuen Institute Early Education & Training Centre, which offers professional training and guidance for children with developmental delays.
Mr Nip toured the centre's facilities including its speech therapy room, and learned about its support services for needy children. He also met parents to hear their views on the services.
Mr Nip later met Tsuen Wan District Youth Corps members to listen to their experiences participating in community services and outbound exchange activities.
He said, in future, young people can take the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link to Mainland provinces and cities for exchange programmes.
This will help deepen their understanding and first-hand experience of the nation’s latest developments, he added.
