Chief Secretary Carrie Lam today visited the Department of Health to learn about its family clinic services and comprehensive assessment services for children with special needs.
She also toured the Fanling Health Centre and met frontline staff.
She was first given an introduction to the department's key work areas and the services provided by the Fanling Health Centre, including family clinic services for civil servants and their dependants, and comprehensive assessment services for children with special needs.
She then toured the Fanling Families Clinic where she was briefed on its facilities and operation, including the Pharmaceuticals Inventory & Dispensary System.
The clinic started operation in March and also provides clinical psychology services.
Mrs Lam then visited the Fanling Child Assessment Centre where she was briefed on the comprehensive assessment services provided for children with special needs.
She was shown assessment tools jointly developed by the department and local universities, and public education publications produced by the department.
Mrs Lam commended the department for its efforts to safeguard public health and encouraged its staff to keep up its professional and dedicated service.
